This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Finrato (finrato.com) processes when you use our free financial calculators, how we use cookies and advertising, and the rights you have. The data controller is the operator of finrato.com; you can reach us at [email protected].

1. Data you enter into calculators

All calculations run locally in your browser. The figures you enter are never sent to or stored on our servers. We do not require registration and do not build a profile from your inputs.

2. Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site we may process limited technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view. This is done through cookies and privacy-friendly analytics, and — where required — only with your consent.

3. Cookies

We use three categories of cookies: (a) strictly necessary cookies for the Site to work; (b) analytics cookies to measure traffic; and (c) advertising cookies to show ads. Non-essential cookies are set only with your prior consent, which you can withdraw at any time via our consent banner or your browser settings.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to Finrato and/or other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in the EU).

5. Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics (Cloudflare) to understand aggregate traffic. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.

6. Legal basis (GDPR)

We rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in the security and proper functioning of the Site.

7. Who we share data with

Limited data may be processed by service providers acting as independent controllers or processors, in particular Google (AdSense) and Cloudflare (hosting and analytics). Some providers may process data outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. 9. Data retention

We keep technical data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

10. Children

Finrato is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
