The calculators and content on finrato.com (the "Site") are provided for general information and educational purposes only. All results are estimates based solely on the figures you enter and on simplified mathematical assumptions. They do not take into account your personal circumstances and may not reflect fees, taxes, insurance, or the actual terms offered by any provider.
No advice and no regulated activity. We do not provide financial, investment, credit, mortgage, insurance, tax or legal advice or recommendations. We do not arrange, broker, introduce or facilitate any financial product, and we take no part in any application or contract between you and any third party. Calculator results are not an offer, quotation or recommendation.
No reliance. You must independently verify all figures and seek advice from a qualified, authorised professional before entering into any financial commitment. You use the Site and act on its content entirely at your own risk.
While we take reasonable care, we make no warranty that calculations, content or information are accurate, complete or current.
2. Terms of Use
2.1 Acceptance
By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2.2 The service
The Site offers free, browser-based financial calculators and informational tools. Calculations run in your browser; we do not require registration and the values you enter are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
2.3 Accuracy and estimates
Results are illustrative estimates only. We do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness or suitability for any purpose, and we accept no responsibility for decisions made on their basis.
2.4 Third-party links
The Site links to third-party websites, mainly official government bodies and free advice charities. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, services, pricing or privacy practices of those third parties. Any dealings with them are solely between you and the third party.
2.5 Intellectual property
All content, design and code on the Site are owned by or licensed to the operator and may not be copied or reproduced without permission, except for normal personal use of the calculators.
2.6 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss or damage (including loss of profit, savings, data or goodwill) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any third-party site. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.
2.7 Changes
We may amend these Terms and the Site at any time. Changes take effect when published here. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance.
2.8 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom, and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
3. Funding and Affiliate Disclosure
Finrato is free to use. It is intended to be funded by advertising (Google AdSense), shown only as clearly separated ads. We have no affiliate partnerships and receive no commission from any lender, provider or organisation linked on the Site; links to government bodies and advice charities are there because they are the authoritative source, not because anyone pays us.
If we ever add an affiliate or sponsored link, it will be labelled as such next to the link and this section will be updated before it goes live.
4. Privacy & Cookie Policy
4.1 Data controller
The data controller for this Site is the operator of finrato.com. Contact: info@finrato.com.
4.2 What we collect
The calculators themselves do not send or store the figures you enter — all calculation happens locally in your browser. We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and records aggregated page views only. Our host (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the Site. Advertising (Google AdSense) may process data only with your consent where consent is required. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
4.3 Cookies
We use: (a) strictly necessary storage for the Site to function (for example, remembering your consent choice); and (b) advertising cookies set by Google AdSense to show ads. Advertising cookies are only set with your prior consent, collected through Google's certified consent banner, which you can withdraw at any time from the "Privacy and cookie settings" link that Google's banner shows, or by clearing cookies in your browser. We do not use analytics cookies.
4.4 Legal basis
We rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the security and proper functioning of the Site.
4.5 Recipients
Limited data may be shared with Google (AdSense, as an independent controller for advertising) and our hosting and analytics provider Cloudflare (as a processor).
4.6 Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the UK: ICO; in Poland: UODO; in Latvia: DVI).
4.7 Retention & changes
We keep technical data only as long as necessary for the purposes above. We may update this policy; changes are published on this page.
5. Editorial Policy & Corrections
5.1 Who writes and checks this content
Finrato is written and maintained by Łukasz Wójcik, an independent developer and the operator of this Site. Łukasz Wójcik is not a licensed financial adviser, accountant or solicitor. Each calculator's formulas and figures are checked against the primary official sources listed on that calculator's page (for example gov.uk/HMRC, ONS, ZUS, GUS, VID, VSAA or CSDD, depending on topic and country) before publication.
5.2 How pages are reviewed and updated
Each calculator page shows a "Last reviewed" date. We re-check figures whenever we become aware that an underlying rate, threshold or rule has changed, and periodically even when no change is expected, to catch anything we missed. There is currently no separate editorial board or second reviewer independent of the Site operator — we are transparent about that so you can weigh the content accordingly and always verify important figures yourself before relying on them.
5.3 Corrections
If you spot an error — a wrong figure, an outdated rate, a broken source link — please email info@finrato.com with the page URL and a description of the issue. We aim to review reports promptly and will update the page and its "Last reviewed" date once a correction is made. We do not silently erase evidence of past errors; where a correction is substantive we may note it on the page.
5.4 Use of artificial intelligence
The explanatory text on this Site — the guides, FAQ answers and rule explanations — is drafted with the help of generative AI and published only after human review by the Site operator, who holds editorial responsibility for it. The calculators contain no AI: results come from deterministic code implementing the published official formula, and nothing you type is sent to an AI system. This is disclosed in accordance with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU Artificial Intelligence Act), which has applied since 2 August 2026.
